Her eyes, which were looking at me, gradually widened, and it seemed like blue jewels were about to spill from them.
Master Cyril, noticing my gaze, also looked at the carriage that had just passed.
"That is... the Baltzar family crest, isn't it?"
"Yeah. Miss Leandra was riding in it."
After stopping and watching the carriage for a while, it stopped after running for some distance.
"The Baltzar family's mansion should be a little further ahead, though..."
Master Cyril muttered, looking puzzled.
After a while, the carriage door opened, and a woman with coral-colored hair got out.
It was Miss Leandra, who we were just talking about, and she got out of the carriage and hurried towards us.
The shoes she was wearing had heels, and the ground here was cobblestone.
I had a slight premonition and cast a swiftness buff on myself and started running.
"Ah!"
As expected, she stumbled after running a few steps.
I immediately put strength in my legs and somehow prevented her from diving to the ground.
"Safe!"
However, I caught her just barely, sliding in to catch her, so I ended up kneeling.
"Are you alright? I wish I could have saved you more stylishly, but..."
Miss Leandra, who was burying her face in my shoulder, slowly raised her face and looked at me.
At first, Miss Leandra was stunned, not knowing what had happened, but she gradually began to understand the situation, and her face was busily turning red and blue.
"I-I am so sorry! To make L-Lord Raimond kneel...!"
First, an apology for making me kneel as a result.
She tried to stand up in a hurry, but she stepped on the hem of her own skirt and couldn't stand up properly.
That only exacerbated her anxiety, and she couldn't move well.
Her face was beyond blue and was now almost pale.
I didn't particularly mind, but I couldn't leave Miss Leandra in that state.
I pulled her body closer to me and put my arms under the back of her knees.
"Miss Leandra, hold on."
I stood up as if I was carrying her, and slowly lowered her feet to the ground so she wouldn't step on the hem of her skirt.
I flicked my gaze towards Master Cyril, and he nodded in understanding and ran away silently.
As expected of Master Cyril!
I turned my gaze from Master Cyril back to Miss Leandra, confirmed that she was standing properly, and released the body I had been hugging. And, there was Miss Leandra, with her face bright red.
"T-Thank you very much."
"It's not my hobby to make a woman kneel forever. I'm the one who caused you to hurry, but are you alright? Are you hurt?"
"I-I'm fine! I just stumbled on my own, it's not Lord Raimond's fault, not at all..."
Even so, the reason Miss Leandra ran was most likely because I didn't reply to her letter.
"Under normal circumstances, it would be rude to have a conversation with the daughter of the Baltzar family in a place like this, but unfortunately, I don't have a carriage right now, and I can't welcome you to the mansion right away. I apologize."
"Not at all! I am the one who should apologize for rudely stopping Lord Raimond."
I put a finger in front of Miss Leandra's face, which was looking at the ground in shame.
Her face, which had been looking down, turned to me, wondering what it was.
"Would I be happier to receive words of gratitude than words of apology from a woman?"
I was a bit embarrassed, thinking to myself that it was cheesy, and my ears got hot from the age-inappropriate line.
However, whether she noticed it or not, Miss Leandra blushed slightly and finally relaxed her expression.
"Thank you, Lord Raimond."
While we were doing that, Master Cyril returned from my mansion with a carriage.
As expected of Master Cyril! You understand!
If I had met Miss Leandra, I should have invited her to the mansion or somewhere right away.
"Fortunately, my attendant brought a carriage, so how about some tea? I can't face General Baltzar, who has always taken care of me, if I leave you like this."
That's right. It would be too rude to Miss Leandra to leave her as she is, especially since she's the only person I've ever danced with in high society, let alone a complete stranger.
If I give a suitable reason, Miss Leandra will take my excuse.
"Then, I'll guide you to my mansion."
I got into the carriage that Master Cyril was driving, and led Miss Leandra's carriage, which was running behind.
I can't ride in the same carriage since she's not my fiancee, after all.
