---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Several weeks have passed since I found a part-time job.
I had established a routine of studying and practicing at the academy during the day, and working part-time at the antique shop in the evening.
In the end, the part-time job was mostly about teaching Julia how to distinguish magic stones and which items were worth a high price, and dealing with the occasional customers, since the stocking itself had been irregular and less frequent since her father disappeared.
And now I'm in the middle of a lecture at the academy.
It's practical training, but...
"I can't win at all."
On the dirt of the training ground, I lay on my back holding my sword.
I thought that I would be able to do it to some extent here because I fought Seesichkin and won on the first day.
However, while I'm taking lectures as a knight course student from Mr. Müller, the use of magic is prohibited.
The reason seems to be that it's a department for honing swordsmanship.
By the way, right now it's a practical training session in pairs. Mr. Müller is giving advice while watching the matches of each pair.
Mr. Müller always gives me advice on swordsmanship when he sees my fighting style that combines magic and swordsmanship, but he says the following.
"You're really not suited for the Knight Department. Do you want to transfer to the Magic Department now? Recently, the teachers in the Magic Department have been coming to me saying that they want to talk to you. What did you do?"
"Um, a little about the possibilities of magic and swordsmanship..."
"Why are you in the Knight Department..."
He made a face that he really couldn't understand.
This is the case every time, you know? It's subtly hurtful.
I don't think my swordsmanship is particularly bad...
"Rai, are you okay? Mr. Müller says harsh things, doesn't he."
"Shiro... No, it's my fault that my swordsmanship is bad."
"Ha! So you're weak after all."
I gathered water in the air and rained it down on top of Seesichkin, who was looking at me and sneering.
"It's cold!"
"Idiot."
"Do you wanna fight!?"
When I stuck out my tongue and made fun of Seesichkin, who was soaking wet, Seesichkin predictably brandished his sword, so I hid behind Shiro.
"Kyaa, help me Shiro-san. I'm being attacked by a thug-"
"Who's a thug!"
"That's so obviously being read off a script."
While chuckling, Shiro smoothly drew his sword against Seesichkin and took a stance.
"Yaa-yaa, I am the knight who protects Princess Rai! Let's have a fair fight!"
"I'm gonna crush you!"
As expected of a fighting race of fish. Seesichkin gleefully crossed swords the moment Shiro attacked.
While listening to the dull but sharp sound of steel clashing against each other, I observed the battle between Shiro and Seesichkin.
Their skills are several levels higher than mine.
They're also older than me, even if it's only by a few years. Their bodies are also more developed than mine.
Seesichkin has supple muscles and versatile swordsmanship from them.
He adapts flexibly to any situation and accurately exploits the opponent's openings.
In contrast, Shiro is an overwhelming power type.
A deadly sword from a strong body.
His movements are slower than Seesichkin because he's putting everything into attack power, but if it hits, the damage is immeasurable.
Shiro is a so-called STR (strength) maxed out build with strong single attack power.
Seesichkin, who is more of a DEX (agility, dexterity) maxed out build, is an attacker who aims for a high number of attacks and criticals.
Master Kirillos is the same type as Seesichkin.
After all, maxed out builds are justice.
They're easy to use tactically and their strength is easy to understand.
In contrast, what I'm aiming for is an enchanter.
A type that can only show its true value when there are companions.
My magic is so-so, and my sword is so-so, so it's hard to have a deciding blow on my own.
A particularly loud sound resounded around, and the sword that Seesichkin had was sent flying into the air.
"Tch!"
After all, Shiro is more dominant when it comes to a battle of strength.
If he can't attack with the number of attacks, Shiro, who has more strength, is more dominant for now.
"Are you gonna do it next, Rai?"
Shiro, who had finished a match, asked me that.
"Hmm. If we're going to do it, I'd like to do it in a 2ON2 or something."
"2ON2? What's that?"
Shiro, who tilted his head at the unfamiliar word, asked that.
"A team battle with two people against two people. A person's strength might be everything as your adventurer rank rises, but you'll be forming parties with someone at first, right? So it's a battle assuming that. What do you think?"
Whether he was interested in my words to some extent or not, Seesichkin, who had immediately turned on his heel and was about to leave me, stopped and listened to me.
"That sounds fun! If that's the case, I want me, Rai, Al, and one more person!"
So, let's add one of the classmates who was nearby and put it into practice! I want to go, but because of my fighting style, I said that I wanted a little time for a strategy meeting and had it set up.
By the way, the teams are me and Seesichkin, and Shiro and the classmate I invited in a hurry.
I don't think we can have a strategy meeting...?
